What is Geo-textile?
As it seems the Geo Prefix means covering with soil so this word means a textile which can be covered by soil. Therefore Geo textiles are products that are used in foundations , underneath of the rocks and any surface which should be covered by soil or any similar concept that could be used in Ground Engineering or it's sub-materials and Building construction projects and way  construction  projects or soil stabilization and rocks stabilization

Soil reinforcement and in increment of performance of structures was a long time challenge in human history.Therefore they used knowledge and experience they could to improve it's quality. Like using stump, bushes and rocks for soil stabilization specially swamps and wetlands. However non of these efforts had not the performance and stability of Geo-textile. This element had a world-wide use in the last two decades and now it is on it's peak usage in the world. In this method by using Geo-textile layers in levee , we can reduce the using  amount of soil materials and retrofit the levee against any applied pressures. Furthermore , we can create optional slopes up to 90 degree, This surfaces are flexible and have a excellent reliability against rotational sliding. We can use these levees in prevention of landslides, weight buffer walls which have demention limitations , retention falling , and road bed constructions.
The first registered usage of Geo-textile in the road was on 1926 by South Carolina Highways Department. In this process a heavy cotton  Geo-textile be placed on the soil then hot asphalt was poured on the layer then a thin layer of sand applied on the surface. The further researches illustrated that this textile reduced the fractions and prevented the breakage and penetration of the road. In recent years polymeric Geo textiles used for better operation of asphalted roads and reducing the thickness of foundation layer. At the end of 60's Rhone-poulen textile company in France used the textiles for variety of fields. As the VanZanten said on 1985, the honor of using the first Geo textile must be claimed by British and Dutch.
The application of Geo-textile in the last decades was vast and this material could pass the tests successfully. We can conclude that Geo textile owes it's success to it's amazing performance in road constructions. Today world is witnessing the thousands of projects of Geo-textile application in Europe, America , Africa and Asia. Specially on east and south east of Asia there are thousands of company and factories in production and installation of Geo textile.
Geo-textile usage is in spread in the world. This universal admission is caused by thousand of successful installation , researches and financial efficiency.
